Joan cannot stand being at the boarding school that happens to be a reason why she doesn't want to be make friends with other children and that she could just be hanging out with her brothers, Luke and Kevin. She feels that she would be better off if she doesn't make friends with the other children and she has a good relationship with her brothers, Luke and Kevin and she still trusts her brothers and the only people that she can trust.
